Tree Pierces Van In I-684 Crash In Purchase A driver was injured after a van crashed off Interstate 684 in Westchester County and slammed into a tree that pierced through the vehicle's windshield.  The crash happened around 5:51 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, on the northbound side of I-684 just south of the Manhattanville Road exit, according to the Purchase Fire Department.  Firefighters arriving at the scene found a Ford van that had gone over the guardrail and struck a tree.  Photos released by the department show a large section of the tree penetrating through the van’s windshield and passenger compartment.  Crews…
